an outreach program to help improve early breast cancer detection among African
American women by emphasizing health education and support services. The

Homestead, Silver Blue Lakes Missionary Baptist Church in Miami and the Austin
Hepburn Human Services Center in Hallandale.
Formerly

Greater Miami is part of an international network which is the merging of The
Wellness Community-National and Gilda's Club. In 2009, these organizations
joined forces under the Cancer Support Community umbrella to become the largest
provider of cancer support worldwide. Since opening its doors in 2002, the
Greater Miami affiliate has been offering professionally led support groups,
educational workshops, nutrition and exercise programs, as well as stress
reduction classes to help people affected by cancer learn vital skills that
enable them to regain control and restore hope. All programs are free of charge
and are available to cancer patients and their loved ones from the moment of
diagnosis. For more information, please call 305-668-5900, or visit
